An ongoing series of portraits taken of friends and family in an intimate but controlled environment. All photographs were taken under the same constraints; at dawn, outside, using only natural light, on a dark background with the sitter undressed.

Photographs taken under defined parameters are usually authoritarian; mug shots, passport photographs etc. They simply document the key features that allow identification of individuals.

However, in this series the subjects are close to the artist. Intimacy is thus juxtaposed with authority and although each portrait is taken uniformly, personality and peculiarity pervade.

The images are taken landscape but displayed portrait, further eluding convention.
