Rosie 16mm (2008)

A filmed portrait of Rosie created as a pendant to Johnny 16mm. Filmed to adhere to the same ‘rules’ and in the same style as my portrait of Johnny, Rosie 16mm is obviously very similar in most respects but there are some interesting differences. Rosie plays up much more to the camera whilst Johnny rarely makes strong eye contact. This could be a comment on gender divides or perhaps my differing relationships with my two subjects. Rosie was a much more animate subject, talking and arguing with me through the camera lens, revealing more of herself to the viewer.
